Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "your") and German Bayatyan, Karl-Krull-Straße 18b, 17491 Greifswald, Germany, the operator of Honest Expenses ("we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the website and web app at honest-expenses.app, the installable app (PWA) and the Telegram bot @honestexp_bot (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

Description of Services

Honest Expenses is a service for tracking your personal income and expenses. The Service includes:

• Recording income, expenses and transfers in your own accounts, with categories, subcategories and notes.
• Reports for any period, charts, and month-over-month and year-over-year comparisons.
• Importing and exporting your transactions as CSV files.
• A Telegram bot for recording transactions and for notifications (for example a monthly summary and payment confirmations).

Honest Expenses is a tool for your own records. It does not connect to your bank, does not move money, and does not give financial, tax or investment advice. You are responsible for the data you enter.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

Accounts & Sign-in

You sign in — and sign up — with your Telegram account; the Service has no separate password. You agree to:

• Use your own Telegram account and keep it secure.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior toward us or other users.

Plans & Billing

Plans

Honest Expenses offers a Free plan and a paid Lifetime plan. Features and limits vary by plan as described in the Pricing section and on the plans page of the app. Free has no time limit. Nothing you have entered is ever deleted because of your plan: what is beyond the Free plan's limits comes back when you upgrade.

Lifetime is a one-time payment (currently 19 €, a launch price) that unlocks the Lifetime features for your account for as long as we operate the Service. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It is tied to your account and cannot be transferred; it ends when you delete your account.

We reserve the right to change plan features and prices for future purchases with 30 days' notice. The price of a purchase you have already made does not change.

Prices and taxes

Prices are in euros and include VAT. Consumers in the European Union pay the VAT of their country. For businesses in another EU member state with a valid VAT ID no VAT is charged (reverse charge); customers outside the European Union pay no VAT. The amount you pay is the same.

Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. By buying, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the price shown at checkout. You receive a receipt (an invoice with the VAT or the reverse-charge note) and a confirmation from the Honest Expenses bot in Telegram.

Subscriptions

Where we offer a subscription plan, it is billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis and renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Plan → Manage subscription; the plan then stays active until the end of the paid period.

Refunds

We offer a voluntary 7-day money-back guarantee for Lifetime (full refunds only). Please see our Refund Policy for full details.

Failed Payments

If a subscription payment fails, Stripe will retry the charge and we will notify you. After repeated failures the subscription ends and your account returns to the plan you have without it (Lifetime or Free).

Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a contract concluded online within 14 days. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, such as Lifetime, this right expires once we have begun providing the content, provided that you have expressly agreed at checkout that we begin before the end of the withdrawal period and have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. We provide Lifetime immediately after payment. Our voluntary 7-day money-back guarantee (see the Refund Policy) is not affected.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
• Distribute malware, spam, or malicious code, including through the Telegram bot.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other accounts.
• Access the Service by automated means (scripts, bots, scraping) beyond normal personal use.
• Resell or sublicense the Service without our express written permission.

Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate account termination without refund.

Fair Use

Plans are intended for normal personal use. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts whose usage generates a load materially exceeding that of comparable users. In such cases, we will contact you in advance before taking any action, unless the usage endangers the Service.

Intellectual Property

Our IP

The Service, including all software, design, trademarks, and content created by us, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.

Your Content

You retain all ownership of the content you enter into the Service (transactions, accounts, categories, notes, imported files). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

Your Data

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your transactions as a CSV file (on the Lifetime plan) and delete your account with all its data at any time in Settings.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses. We do not warrant that any results obtained from use of the Service (such as totals and reports) will be accurate or reliable; they are only as accurate as the data entered.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, or where liability cannot be limited by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.

Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account. We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.

When you delete your account, your data is deleted immediately and for good, a running subscription is cancelled at once, and a Lifetime plan tied to the account is lost. Payment records that tax law requires to be kept are kept by Stripe (see the Privacy Policy).

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and applicable member state law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the relevant jurisdiction.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the app or through the Telegram bot and by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
